How we maintain natural stone floors

The specific process we use will be shaped according to the type of stone, the state of the floor and the finish that you would like to achieve. Here is an example of our workflow:

  1. Tile and Stone Medic will examine the stone floor that you have so that we can identify the best solutions to be used.
  2. The solutions are applied to the stone floor and left to dwell for a short period of time.
  3. We use rotary cleaners to ensure the cleaning solutions are worked into the surface of the floor fully.
  4. Once the dwell time has been reached, the floor is washed using high tech fresh water extractor systems. This ensures removal of all old sealers, dirt and other contaminants from the surface of the stone.
  5. The surface is neutralised with several washes to free it of any soiling or residue from the previous stages of the process.
  6. Once the floor has dried, the chosen sealers are applied to the stone. The sealers range from impregnating sealers which will not affect the look the stone, to matt, satin or high sheen glossy finishes depending on your preference.

Usually we are able to stabilise stone flooring where it has become loose. We can repair grouting and make spot repairs to the subfloor where necessary. Our Process

Whatever the condition of your tile flooring, we’ll asses the damage and condition and take the most appropriate action. Where repairs are necessary we’ll discuss these with you and take care to get as close to a match with the rest of the floor as is possible. Please note it may not always be possible to achieve a 100% match, but in most cases we are able to carry out repairs to an outstanding result.

After identifying and applying the relevant cleaning solutions to your tiles, they are worked into the top surface with our cutting edge rotary cleaners. The solutions are then left to dwell for a brief period of time. Once the dwell time has been reached, the floor is then washed with our powerful fresh water extractor systems to ensure complete removal of all old sealers, dirt and other contaminants from the surface of the tiles. That means Tile & Stone Medic will leave your space in as good or better condition than we find it in, always thoroughly cleaning up after ourselves. Our medics will arrive promptly and in almost all cases complete the job in the allocated time. We will not bring dangerous or oversized machinery into your business or home to complete the repairs and will always follow all relevant health and safety procedures.

Please note, whilst Tile & Stone Medic Cheshire carry out all repairs to the highest professional standards, no guarantees can be given that the repair will not be seen due to a none exact colour match or uneven flooring. This can be due to many factors out of our control, including the age of the tile, wear and tear of the tile, location of the tile and also the general environment the floor/tiles are and have been subject to. Will Tile & Stone Medic’s cleaning services cause noise, disruption, dirt or debris in my home/business?

We always work in the most considerate way possible. Work will be tailored to your needs and will fit around your schedule where possible. We avoid bringing loud or bulky machinery into your home and when a job is complete we thoroughly clean up after ourselves to leave your space looking as tidy as it did when we arrived.

Do we have to move all the furniture?

Yes, ideally if you want the job done to the best of our ability, then all furniture, kick plates in kitchens etc should be removed. However, don’t worry we will help you manage this.

Is your work all insured?

Absolutely! we are always happy to show you our insurance certificates or down load them to you if so required.

How long does the work take to carry out?

Once we have spoken to you in more detail we will be able to give you an idea of the time allocation required to restore your floors to a high level.
