This floor had never been sealed and was therefore extremely porous. The floor was cleaned using a high alkaline solution and agitated with a rotary machine and green pad. The solution was left to dwell and rinsed with fresh water extraction. The floor was then left over night to dry and inspected in the morning. The reason for this, is that efflorescence can form on the top of these floors where moisture is used, so this needs to be checked before sealing and polishing. Once the floor was inspected, we applied two coats of sealer and 3 coats of high shine polish.
