These fire places were 200 years old and just looked a little tired. The process to clean the stone is quite straight forward. A fire restoration solution was sprayed on to a small area at a time. The product we use is for professional use only and is called ‘Ultra Pac Renovate’ and it is designed to lift carbon and soot deposits from the pores of the stone. Once this has been applied and agitated with the appropriate brushes the area is then rinse with fresh water extraction. Once the fireplaces were completely dry the stone was sealed with a water based impregnating sealer.
